Programs & Projects – Every year the Friends sponsor special programs to enrich the library experience for children, teens, and adults. Over the last few years, the Friends were able to fund emergency repairs to the elevator, a new security system, the flower gardens surrounding the parking area, landscaping services, gutter repairs, and the children’s room. The Friends provide funding for all of the free and discount museum passes offered by the library, as well as sponsoring popular library services such as Ancestry.com and Kanopy.

Book Sale Donations – The Friends of Thayer Public Library host an ongoing book sale on the Lower Level. All proceeds benefit the Friends. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation of books or recent magazines; items in saleable condition may be dropped off in the Reference Department any time that the library is open.

Annual Garage Book Sale – To be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, 9am – 1pm. In the weeks leading up to the sale, please drop off gently used books, CDs, and DVDs on the library’s Lower Level during regular library hours only. Please, no VHS tapes or old magazines. Thank you for your support of the Friends!
