GET A LIBRARY CARD

During regular library hours, you may apply for a library card at the Circulation desk. For ages 16+, photo identification (e.g. a driver’s license) and proof of current address (e.g. vehicle registration, postmarked envelope addressed to applicant) is required in order to receive a card. Children’s card registrations are done in the Children’s Department.

A patron must have a valid library card with them to borrow materials. Use of an app that displays membership cards such as CardStar is acceptable. A $2.00 fee may be charged to replace a lost library card.

Children, up to Grade 6, should apply for their card in our Children’s Department. Young adults under the age of 16 must have their parent’s signature in order to obtain a card.

You may also register online for an e-card for immediate access to many online products such as Overdrive and to place hold through the catalog. You will need to complete your registration in person in order to check out physical materials and for access to digital materials purchased by Thayer Public Library.

For questions about library cards and e-cards, contact the Circulation Department at 781-848-0405, ext. 4410.
