ADULT SUMMER READING 2020

SUMMER READING 2020 RUNS FROM MONDAY, JUNE 15TH THROUGH MONDAY, AUGUST 24TH

This year Summer Reading will be a little different — we’re going online!  Now you can sign up online using Beanstack.  Track your books and submit your reviews online or use the mobile app (available in the App Store and the Google Play Store).  Track your books, submit your reviews all from the comfort of home — or the beach!  Reviews on Beanstack will display readers first name and last initial.  Miss seeing the Summer Reading Review Boards?  They’ve gone online as well on a Virtual Summer Reading Bulletin Board!

We have lots of Virtual Events planned around this year’s theme of “Imagine Your Story” starting with the kickoff —  two Virtual Escape Rooms for all ages.  And don’t forget to participate in “Better Gnomes and Fairy Gardens” on Instagram throughout the Summer!  We will also be teaming up with the Braintree Parks and Recreation Department to present events throughout the Summer as part of the “Braintree 2020 Summertastic Distance Social Series.”  You can learn more about these events, and all the fun we have planned for this summer on the library calendar.

If you want to be among the first to know about everything happening at the library, then don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Monday June 15th-Monday August 24th.

Who can participate Summer Reading?
Everyone! The Children’s Summer Reading Challenge is open to ages 0-12. Babies and toddlers not yet in Kindergarten can participate too. Teens in grades 6 through 12 can join the Team Reading Challenge. Adults can join the Adult Reading Challenge.

How do I get started?
You can sign up on Beanstack.

What is Beanstack?
Beanstack is an online program that you can use to track your summer reading an submit book reviews (reviews will display readers first name and last initial).  You can even get a mobile app to track your reading on your phone.  Apps are available on Google Play and the App Store.

What do I have to do?
Read and review books to earn virtual badges.

Can I still write reviews like I did last year?
Yes, you can turn in your reviews through Beanstack.  We’ll post your reviews on a Virtual Summer Reading Bulletin Board.

What if I want to turn in paper copies of my reviews?
We are working on that, in the meantime we would love it if you would give the online review form a try.
