Young Adults: Services

The Young Adult room on the lower level of the library is stocked  with an assortment of materials of interest to teens.  The  collection consists of  fiction -- including an extensive selection of graphic novels -- as well as nonfiction books, audiobooks and DVDs.  There are four computers equipped with Microsoft Office Suite (2007), CD and DVD rewrite capability and filtered Internet access. A scanner is also available.  Teens can also access the library's wireless Internet on their own laptop computers.  The room is furnished with carrels for quiet study and comfortable chairs for reading and relaxing.

The room's  location next to the Reference and Non-fiction areas of the library makes it easy for teens to find the information they need  for homework and school projects. A Reference Librarian is available to assist with research.

To use the library's Internet computers for research or recreation, young adults from the ages of 12 to 17 must have a parent or legal guardian sign  an Internet agreement form.

Library programs for teens include the monthly meeting of the Braintree Anime Society (for ages 13 and up), an annual Scrabble Playoff and the annual Summer Reading Program.
Check the calendar to see upcoming library events for teens.
